[Discussion] please clarify status of web100 kernel patches

Some of the (relatively) recent messages in this list suggest that the kernel patches aren't required in kernel 2.6... however, the patches are there, and are specifically for 2.6.11 !!  Are they required, or not??  It looks like all the variables that web100 modifies are present in /proc/sys/net/ipv4... or am I misunderstanding the requirements??
