Hi,

I have the same problem on a vanilla 2.6.22 kernel with the Web100 patch. The problem only occurs when I am using computers with more than 4GB of RAM, though. If this can help..

Cheers
Romaric

I think Jeremy is using the stock kernel on a Red Hat system. Not sure why his system is triggering this issue but I believe I know what the problem is. I should have a fix in the next release (for 2.6.24) real soon.

Thanks,

The patch is only tested for mainline kernels - 2.6.23 from http://www.kernel.org/ . Redhat and other distros change things down stream, and we can't debug them.

I believe that Debian and Ubuntu stick closer to the mainline.

Good luck,

Hello,

I need a little help and/or advice.

I have been having trouble getting the web100 patch working on our Red
Hat Enterprise Linux 5 server. I am using the standard kernels found at
www.kernels.org. I am able to get the patch applied and the kernel
compiled and installed, but the web100 statistics hash table causes the
kernel to panic. I've removed the statistics piece from the
configuration, recompiled it and the server boots, but the web100 piece
isn't there when I do the confirmation (/var/log/dmesg).

I've tried this with different 2.6.20, 2.6.22, and 2.6.23 kernels.

Here is the panic message I get:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Failed to allocate Web100 stats hash table
